Notion AI pricing illustration showing a digital workspace with documents, a task board and AI credits

Notion AI is no longer sold on its own. In 2026 the full version comes bundled with Notion's Business plan, which costs $20 per member per month billed yearly or $24 billed monthly, and with Enterprise, which has custom pricing. The Free and Plus plans only get a limited AI trial.

This guide breaks down every Notion plan, exactly which AI features each one includes, how the new Standard, Select and Notion credits work, what a 1, 10 and 50 person team really pays, and how Notion stacks up against ChatGPT Business, Claude Team, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Google Workspace with Gemini.

How Much Does Notion AI Cost in 2026?

Full Notion AI costs $20 per member per month on the Business plan with yearly billing, or $24 per member on monthly billing. There is no cheaper way to get unlimited access to Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search, because Notion stopped selling AI as a separate add-on to new Free and Plus customers in May 2025.

Notion's pricing page lists four plans: Free at $0, Plus at $10 per seat, Business at $20 per seat and Enterprise at custom pricing. Those are the yearly rates. The page says you can "save up to 20% with yearly" billing, and the monthly rates are $12 for Plus and $24 for Business, as confirmed by several October 2026 pricing guides.

On top of the seat price, Custom Agents and heavy AI use draw on Notion credits at $10 per 1,000, and from November 2, 2026 every Business seat runs on a monthly credit allowance.

What Does Each Notion Plan Cost?

Notion charges per member, and guests are free. Plus and Business are about 17% cheaper on yearly billing, which works out to $24 a year saved per Plus seat and $48 a year per Business seat.

Here is what each feature does, based on Notion's own descriptions:

  • Notion Agent completes multi-step tasks using context from your workspace, connected apps and the web, and can create or edit pages.

  • AI Meeting Notes transcribes and summarizes meetings and pulls out follow-ups, with no bot joining the call.

  • Enterprise Search searches your Notion pages plus connected tools such as Slack, Google Drive and GitHub.

  • Research mode drafts reports from your workspace sources and the web.

  • Custom Agents run on their own schedule or trigger, such as a daily brief, task routing or inbox triage.

Image generation, still in beta, has its own cap: 10 generations or edits per 24 hours and 30 per 30 days, according to Notion's AI FAQ. If you are weighing Notion as a project hub, our guide on how to use AI for project management shows where these features fit in a real workflow.

How Do Notion AI Credits Work?

Every Business and Enterprise member gets 1,500 Standard credits and 500 Select credits each month. Standard credits cover work where Notion picks the model, and Select credits cover work where you pick the model or run your own Custom Agents. Both reset monthly and do not roll over.

This system is new. Notion announced it on October 19, 2026 in a post titled "Agents, rebuilt to do more for less". New workspaces started on it that day, and existing workspaces move over on November 2, 2026. Notion says most users are unlikely to run out.

There are three types of credit, according to Notion's credits help page:

  • Standard credits (1,500 per member): Notion Agent on Auto, AI editing, translation, AI blocks, AI database formulas and AI Meeting Notes.

  • Select credits (500 per member): Notion Agent with a model you choose, and Custom Agents you set up for yourself.

  • Notion credits (bought by the workspace at $10 per 1,000): usage beyond your allowance, high-consumption models and Custom Agents funded by the workspace.

Credits cannot be pooled or moved between members. If you run out, those features pause until the next monthly reset, unless an admin turns on the setting that lets the workspace's Notion credits take over. That setting is off by default.

How far do 1,500 Standard credits go?

Notion's own estimates put a simple task on Auto at 5 credits, a medium task at 10 and a complex task at 25. That means 1,500 Standard credits cover roughly 300 simple tasks, 150 medium tasks or 60 complex ones a month. A one-hour meeting recorded with AI Meeting Notes uses about 10 Standard credits, and meeting notes start drawing from this allowance on December 1, 2026.

Picking a model yourself costs far more. Notion estimates the same tasks at 50, 85 and 150 credits on Opus 5.5. At those rates, 500 Select credits cover only about 10 simple tasks or 3 complex ones. If your team habitually overrides Auto, expect to buy Notion credits.

Which AI Models Does Notion AI Use?

By default, Notion AI runs on Auto, a router that picks a model for each task. Business and Enterprise members can also choose frontier models from OpenAI and Anthropic, which uses Select credits. The most expensive models, which Notion names as Fable and Astra, require paid Notion credits and stay off until a workspace owner turns them on.

Notion claims Auto delivers results similar to Opus 5.5 and Astra at about 90% lower average cost across more than 20 use cases. Its October 2026 announcement also says ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Go accounts can now be connected to Notion Agent, and that it added seven new models in the past month from Anthropic, OpenAI and open-weight providers.

Admins get real control here. Notion's model and spend settings page shows owners can switch individual models on or off, block whole model providers, and set credit limits for everyone or for specific people. One catch: Notion says Business trials may not include the model picker.

Can You Still Buy Notion AI as an Add-On?

No, not as a new Free or Plus customer. Notion dropped the separate $10 a month Notion AI add-on on May 13, 2025, folded AI into the Business plan and raised Business from $15 to $20 per member. People who already paid for the add-on kept their AI features.

Engadget reported the change the day it launched, alongside Notion's own Notion AI for Work announcement. Existing Business customers saw the new price at their first renewal on or after August 13, 2025.

The only AI items you can still buy separately are Notion credits, at $10 per 1,000, and only on Business or Enterprise. Any guide that still recommends Plus plus a $10 add-on is out of date.

Is Notion AI Free?

Only as a trial. Free and Plus members get "a limited number of complimentary AI responses," and Notion does not publish the exact number. Once the trial runs out, the only route to ongoing AI access is the Business or Enterprise plan.

Two details trip people up. First, upgrading from Free to Plus does not reset your AI trial, so paying $10 or $12 a month for Plus buys you no extra AI. Second, Notion says organizations and teams may be eligible for a 30-day Business trial, which is the best way to test the full feature set before committing.

Custom Agents had their own free window, which ended on May 3, 2026, according to Notion's Custom Agents launch post. Today you can try them using your monthly Select credits without buying anything. Workers, the newest beta, are free to try on Business and Enterprise, and Notion's Workers pricing page says they will "eventually" require credits at a typical $0.0023 per run.

How Much Does Notion AI Cost for a Team?

On Business, a solo user pays $240 a year on yearly billing, a 10-person team pays $2,400 and a 50-person team pays $12,000. Monthly billing adds 20% to each figure. These are seat costs only, before any extra Notion credits.

$1,200 a month ($14,400 a year)

$500 a month ($6,000 a year)

$600 a month ($7,200 a year)

The gap between Plus and Business is the real price of Notion AI. On yearly billing it is $10 per member per month, which is exactly what the old add-on cost. For a 50-person team that is $6,000 a year, and it buys the full AI toolkit.

What about Custom Agents?

Notion's Custom Agents credits page estimates a Q&A agent at about $0.03 to $0.11 per run and a daily brief agent at about $0.10 to $0.30 per run. A daily brief that runs every workday, about 22 times a month, would cost roughly $2.20 to $6.60 a month if it is funded with workspace credits. A personal agent draws from its owner's Select credits first, so light use may cost nothing extra.

For a 10-person team on yearly Business with three shared agents averaging $5 a month each, the total would be $200 in seats plus $15 in credits, or $215 a month.

How Does Notion AI Pricing Compare With ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini?

Notion Business sits in the same $20 to $25 per user band as ChatGPT Business and Claude Team's Standard seat. The difference is what you get for the money: Notion bundles AI with a docs, wiki and project workspace, while ChatGPT and Claude are AI assistants first. Microsoft and Google add AI to their office suites.

A few points the table cannot show:

  • Microsoft's $18 rate is a promotion. It runs from July 1 to December 31, 2026, applies to existing Microsoft 365 customers with an eligible Business plan, needs an annual commitment and covers the first year only.

  • Stacking adds up. Many teams pay for Notion and a chat assistant. Ten users on yearly Notion Business plus yearly ChatGPT Business costs $400 a month. Notion now lets you connect a personal ChatGPT plan to Notion Agent, but that does not replace Notion's seat fee.

Which Notion Plan Should You Pick?

Pick Business if you want Notion AI for real work, Plus if you only need a shared workspace without AI, and Free if you are a solo user testing the waters. Enterprise is for companies that need zero data retention with AI providers and tighter admin controls.

  • Free ($0): solo users organizing personal projects who are happy with a short AI trial.

  • Plus ($10 yearly, $12 monthly): small teams that want a collaborative workspace and do their AI work in another tool, such as ChatGPT or Claude. Do not buy Plus expecting more AI, because it does not reset or extend the trial.

  • Business ($20 yearly, $24 monthly): teams that live in Notion and want meeting notes, cross-app search, research mode and agents in one place. Start with the 30-day Business trial if your team is eligible, and pay yearly once you are sure, since that saves $48 per seat.

  • Enterprise (custom): regulated or larger organizations that need zero data retention with model providers, custom retention policies and admin API controls over AI models.

One honest test: if your team already pays for ChatGPT Business or Claude Team and only opens Notion for documentation, Plus plus your existing assistant is usually cheaper. If Notion is where projects, meetings and wikis actually happen, Business is the better buy, because the AI can read everything your team has written. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much is Notion AI per month?

Notion AI comes with the Business plan, which costs $20 per member per month billed yearly or $24 billed monthly. Enterprise includes it at custom pricing. It is no longer sold as a separate add-on to new customers.

Is Notion AI included in the Plus plan?

No. Plus, at $10 per member per month yearly or $12 monthly, includes only a limited trial of Notion AI. Upgrading from Free to Plus does not reset that trial.

Can I still buy the $10 Notion AI add-on?

Not as a new Free or Plus customer. Notion removed the add-on on May 13, 2025 and bundled AI into Business. People who already had the add-on kept their AI features.

Is Notion AI free?

Only as a trial. Free and Plus members get a limited number of complimentary AI responses, and Notion does not publish the exact number. Eligible teams can also try the full Business plan for 30 days.

How many AI credits do Notion Business members get?

Each Business and Enterprise member gets 1,500 Standard credits and 500 Select credits a month. They reset monthly, do not roll over and cannot be shared between members. Workspaces can buy extra Notion credits at $10 per 1,000.

How much do Notion Custom Agents cost?

Custom Agents run on credits. A personal agent uses its owner's monthly Select credits first, and workspace-funded agents use Notion credits at $10 per 1,000. Notion estimates most agent runs cost between about $0.03 and $0.30.

Is Notion AI cheaper than ChatGPT Business?

They cost about the same. Notion Business is $20 per user yearly or $24 monthly, and ChatGPT Business is $20 yearly or $25 monthly. Notion includes a full workspace, while ChatGPT Business is a dedicated standalone assistant.

The Bottom Line

Notion AI pricing is simple once you know the add-on is gone: you get the full product on Business at $20 per member yearly or $24 monthly, or on Enterprise at a custom price. Free and Plus only get a trial. From November 2, 2026, each Business seat comes with 1,500 Standard and 500 Select credits a month, which covers typical use on Auto, with extra credits at $10 per 1,000 for heavy users and shared agents. If your team already works inside Notion, Business is priced in line with ChatGPT Business and Claude Team and puts AI next to your actual work. If Notion is just your filing cabinet, Plus plus a separate assistant is the cheaper setup.
